Starbucks ups buyback plan by up to 25 mln shares

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Starbucks Corp. SBUX -0.86% late Thursday said its board has authorized the repurchase of up to 25 million of its common shares. The coffee retailer said the new authorization is in addition to the 12.1 million shares that remained available for repurchase at the end of fiscal year 2012.
